RE: Does anyone have FIOS yet?

I have it for internet, TV, and phone. I really like the physical part of FiOS, but Verizon sucks as far as customer service. They like to bill incorrectly and you have to spend 30 min. on the phone to get them to correct it. But, I had cable before and the customer service was even worse, so Verizon is a step up. The internet, TV and phone are rock solid...in almost 2 years now I've not had a service outage. And since the fiber pipe has unlimited bandwidth, the internet is always super fast no matter how many other people in your area are on. So, FIOS thumbs up, Verizon thumbs down...

RE: Greenbelt Park CG, MD yeah or nay?

Glad you had a good time. I imagine you'd have the same hum of traffic sound at Cherry Hill as it sits right on 95. D&M, shouldn't that be the "bi-state and the District" area?

RE: What are the advantages of Apple over PC?

and I truly am happy for them. Me too - now if only my Apple stock would get out of the toilet! :C Dave Apple stock $110 Wachovia this week .83 cents. Microsoft $26.57 You have a funny definition of a stock being in the toilet. Apple dropped from $202.96 to $109.12 the past year because they don't don't build computers that consumers want under $1,000. Microsoft market cap is $241.77 Billion vs $96.67 Billion for Apple. 8.1 Van should know since he works for MS:).

RE: Shower now dumps to the Grey Tank, YEAH!

seems to me that if you are not hooked up in a campground, all grey water still has to go to that one tank to mix with "stuff". I wouldn't call that excellent. bumpy What difference does it make if the black and grey are mixed? You're not going to use the grey water to wash your toad (are you?).

RE: Shower now dumps to the Grey Tank, YEAH!

Our Foretravel just has one big (like 130 gallon) waste tank. All drains and the head go to one tank. There is also a grey water bypass valve which will allow the greywater to go straight out the sewage hose if we're sitting in a campsite. so how does the valve know it is grey water to bypass, and not a mixture? yuk. bumpy The valve directs the toilet into the tank ONLY. All other waste water will bypass the tank and go straight out the hose. So for the 1st couple of days we'll keep the bypass closed, letting the tank get some water in it so the solids won't stay solid. Then, open the bypass valve and let the grey water go right out the coach. We've camped over a month this way and only had to dump when it was time to leave.

RE: Surge Guard

We used a 50 amp plug-in Surge Guard on our last coach. It died in the first year from water damage on the inside. The company replaced it under warranty, telling us not to lay the unit on the ground...it must hang vertically. I don't remember now, but I don't think there was any warning on the unit not to lay it on the ground. Present coach has a hard-wired unit. It's the only way to go.

RE: Anyone have a Pressure Pro alert due to mis-read of sensor?

We had PP on our last MH. We often would loose sensors, esp. on the toad and on the rear MH tires, despite having the repeater antenna. Got so many false alarms we ended up un-plugging the thing. We have Tire Sentry now on the new rig...0 false alarms.

RE: What are the advantages of Apple over PC?

I will repeat my question since it was avoided: I would add, no third party software to have competitive pricing. Isn't that sort of one of the reasons that Macs lost out in the beginning? bumpy I thought that originally the closed architecture or some such where apple didn't let other third parties in caused the PC to take off better. Note, I am not asking who has the cheapest computers, just how apple evidently shot themselves in the foot, originally. bumpy As an example, Microsoft Office 2007/8 is the same price for the Mac or PC version. Same for Adobe Creative Suite 4. So 3rd party software is the same price for either OS.

RE: Plasma vs. LCD televisions

Panasonic's new plasmas have an anti-reflective coating just like LCD's. Get a plasma if you want the absolute best picture. Get LCD to get a darn good picture at a lower price. Our last coach had a Sony plasma...no problems in 3 years, including camping in Breckenridge, CO at well over a mile in elevation. Present coach has LCD. LCD and plasma have worked fine in my experience for RV use.

RE: shock when touched door

You've already checked for the bad ground when you got shocked. So you do have one. Should you be concerned -- most definitely!

RE: What are the advantages of Apple over PC?

I switched a couple of years back after being a life-long Windows user. I made the switch because I was faced with a re-install of XP on my home-made PC. Programs weren't loading and the OS was hanging way too much. That, combined with the constant upkeep of anti-virus and anti-malware programs made me stop by the local Apple Store. After I started playing with the Macs I was blown away by how clean and easy the OS is to use. I bought a Mac Mini and used my old Windows monitor, keyboard, and mouse. Best thing I ever did in my computing life...

RE: new small computers from Dell

My old work gave me a Fujitsu mini laptop, and we all hated them. The keyboard was also "mini" making typing a royal pain.

RE: We are going to Boston

Walk the Freedom Trail. It's a 2.5 mile trail that runs from Boston Commons over to Charlestown where the USS Constitution is docked. Just follow the red-bricks in the sidewalks as the trails takes you by all the famous sites in town. I walked the entire trail and took the ferry back from the Navy Yard back to downtown, and then jumped on the T back to the hotel.

RE: I-95 south from So. Maryland

95 from Richmond to Daytona Beach (where you'll pick up I-4) is one of the most boring interstates in the nation, with zero scenery (unless you count South of the Border signs as scenery). That said, it's a fine road for traveling and you'll make good time.
